Anne E. O’Brien, 22, of 227 McKinley Ave., Eau Claire and formerly of
Humbird, died Sunday, August 3, 2003, as a result of a
pedestrian-vehicular accident in Irving township, Jackson County.
Anne Elizabeth, daughter of Jerome O’Brien and Mary Melcher, was born
June 28, 1981, in Albuquerque, N.M. She attended elementary school in
Albuquerque, before moving to Humbird, and then attended Alma Center
Elementary School. She graduated from Alma Center High School in 1999,
and was currently a senior at U.W. Eau Claire. While attending college
she also was working at Highland Fitness Center in Eau Claire. Anne was
a very gifted young lady. She was very artistic, especially as a
painter, and also had a beautiful singing voice. She will be fondly
remembered for her gentle heart and help to others. She enjoyed the
simple pleasures of life, stargazing, movies, traveling, and listening
to music.
She is survived by her parents, Jerry and Mary; brother, Patrick
O’Brien of Humbird; sister, Erin O’Brien of Humbird; grandparents,
Donald F. Melcher of Merrillan, Marlene Melcher McNulty of Palm Desert,
Calif., Marjorie O’Brien of Altoona and Rodger and Orrine O’Brien of
Strum; and special friend, David Arnold of Eau Claire.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2003, at
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fairview, rural Fairchild. Burial will
be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Anderson Funeral
Home in Augusta, and one hour before services Friday at the church.
